Dear Diary,
Today... I start Reaper Academy... I don't want to go to school.
I am dead... shouldn't I be able to rest in peace? =(
~Me

Today was my first day of Reaper Academy. Yes you heard that right... Reaper Academy. A school that teaches people like me how to become Grim Reapers. Although I guess I really wasn't a person now... Was I? I wasn't exactly alive... So I guess it taught souls like me how to be Grim Reapers. It was a school located in the Epicenter of the Netherworld. In other words, Hell. If you had been chosen to be a Grim Reaper, you had no choice but to be sent here. The Council in limbo decided your fate. Although, the job of a Grim Reaper was quite a decent punishment from what I have been told. There are a lot far worse jobs that you could receive if the Council deemed it appropriate. I don't know if I wanted to learn of other fates I could have received. Being in school was a punishment on its own... well, at least to me.

After the Council had decided my fate, I was transferred here to my dorm at Reaper Academy. El Diablo's pride and joy. I guess the Devil hated being called El Diablo. I had heard that from my current roommate who is on her third year in Reaper Academy. According to her, there are four years of Reaper Academy. Those four years (which move faster than years in the living world) are equal to two years in the living world. You start off with Orientation, then you are considered a beginner in your first year. In your second year, you become an intermediate. In your third year, you are advanced, and in your fourth year you are an expert. After all that, you graduate.  I have no idea if any of this is true, so don't shoot me if I am wrong.

She also told me that I will learn a lot of the information today at Orientation. How scary is it that this is like an actual school? I am currently waiting to meet my resident dorm advisor, who will take me and my fellow Beginner Reapers to Orientation. Beginners aren't allowed out of our dorms until we are read the laws of Reaper Academy. They don't tell you the laws until right before Orientation. hat is why your resident dorm adviser brings you to Orientation. They also place you with a student who is above your year as a roommate, so if you have any questions they can help you.

So far I have learned:

1. I am dead. Kind of obvious if you ask me.

2. That I will never age which is because I am dead.

3. I am now a beginner at Reaper School.

4. Two years down here is equal to one living year.

5. The devil is real.

6. My roommate is a chatterbox.

A knock on my door startled me out of my thoughts. I was looking at the mirror that was kindly located on the door that led to the halls... the halls that were enchanted. If you were to go out into the halls without having been informed the Laws of Reaper Academy... you would get lost... forever. Sucked into the abyss that was cursed on them... unless the resident dorm advisor was with you, of course. How they stopped it then I had no ideas. I guess I would be finding out soon enough.

I studied myself for a moment as I got close to the door. I was decked in what you would call a school uniform, part of the punishment at the school I guess. Although in a regular school you have a white shirt, a pleated plaid skirt... but this was different. Although, where area's a normal school uniform was white shirt, pleated plaid skirt... this was different. The school was different, and from what my roommate told me they at least took into consideration your favorite colors, and personal style when you were alive. So my uniform was black and red, with a punk/goth feel to it.

The knocking became harder and more rapid, knocking me out of my inner musings. Rolling my eyes I opened the door to see a tall male glowering infront of me. Oh boy was he handsome. "It took you long enough." Jumping back startled at the tone of his voice, I yelped as I fell to the ground. He rolled his eyes from the doorway as he made his way into the room, grabbing my hand (without offering his own) he pulled me to my feet. In a sudden flurry of movements he had my arm infront of him, and me sitting down on the bed. I was dazed and confused and before I had gathered my bearings he was fastening a silver band around my wrist. The silver band was gorgeous and had an intricate design. I was fascinated by the band. Without talking, the unknown male snapped his fingers and a glittering chain wound its way out of the band and onto my right wrist.

"What..." I started to ask but he shook his head and yanked on the chain. I stumbled forward almost falling on the floor for the second time. He kept yanking the chain, and I had no choice but to follow. He led me out into the hall like a dog. My face flushed in embarrassment as heads poked out of open doors, the male infront of me stopped giving me a pointed stare to stay. The command was silent but it was as if he had screamed it at me. He knocked at the door infront of him, a blonde with pink streaks in her hair... punk rocker chick opened the door. She eyed the male up and down before she raised an eyebrow. "Who are you?" She asked her voice filled with disdain.

A small demented smile graced his handsome face. His voice was rough and had an air of authority as he spoke, "I am Dimitri, your resident dorm advisor. Now hold out your right arm." She raised her eyebrow yet again, which caused him to get angry. His body was shaking and I expected him to spout fur, or grow or something to that effect. When he didn't, I sighed in relief. Although, in a quick, almost inhuman motion, he grasped the puk girl's arm and slipped a matching silver band on her wrist and fastened it. With a snap of his fingers a glittering chain appeared and made it's way to join the matching one in his hand.

He dragged the two of us down the hall before stopping at another door, this time when he knocked a older tall red head stuck her head out the door. Opening the door completely, you could see that the redhead had on a pure white outfit identical to mine, although she seemed a bit preppy. Glancing the guy up and down she licked her lips, before glancing at the two of us who were behind him. A small smile crept up on her lips, she darted her wrist out to which Dimitri nodded his head in approval. He easily slipped the band over her wrist and snapped. She joined the two of us.

"So I am Arianna, but you can call me Ari." The redhead said, introducing herself as she skipped next to Dimitri. Her obvious attempt was to flirt with him. He ignored her attempt. "What are your names?" She asked curiously. The blonde answered before me, "My name is Rainbow... Well no, it's really Melissa. I hate the name Melissa, and Mel or Lissa sounds stupid, so I like to be called Rainbow."  She smiles. I raise my eyebrow in horror and snorted my attempt at trying to hold my laughter in. "Are you serious? You call yourself Rainbow?" Arianna inquired in amusement. 'Rainbow' glared at Arianna fuming at her enjoyment over the matter.

"So what's your name?" Arianna questioned me. I bit my lip as I mulled over the possibility of giving a fake name, although they were in the same predicament as I... and they most likely would get my real name eventually. So lying wouldn't be the opportune thing to do. "My name is Zathandra." I spoke with conviction, and eyed each of them, daring a peep out of their mouths to speaking an ill word of my name. None came out of their mouths as we continued to move behind Dimitri. "That's... a  very powerful name!" Rainbow exclaimed.

We were hushed as Dimitri neared another door. He knocked loudly, and we waiting against the wall opposite of the door as he waited for the door to open. After Dimitri had knocked about ten times, the door opened quickly, revealing a tall, tanned man. His hair was a shaggy blonde. You could tell he was a surfer. His hair was wet & his eyes were sparkling blue. He was hunky. "Aloha broha! What's your name dude? Mine's Carrrrson. Surfer extraordinaire. Maybe you have heard of me yeah?" He inquires. Everyone shakes their head no, his eyebrows drew together in frustration. "Well one minute I was surfing the biggest wave of this century. The next I am in a white room being judged. They tell me I died. Now I'm stuck here..." He trails off.

"Well Carson. Please stick out your right wrist." Carson gives him a strange look but does as Dimitri asks... although it didn't seem like a question. It was more like a command. I watched as Dimitri slipped and snapped on a gold band that was a bit thicker than the ones that were slipped on the females wrists, although it had the same  design as ours. A snap of his fingers and another glittering chain joined ours, as Carson was pulled to join us in our search of more new students. We traveled through the bends and turns and tunnels... the halls of this school were a maze. How would we even find our way out?

"So I am Arianna. This is Melissa... she prefers to be called Rainbow..." Arianna trailed off. Her voice littered with content when she said Rainbow. "This is Zathandra, and the sexy guy who's got us training behind him like dogs is Dimitri, our resident dorm advisor. You can all me Ari if you want." Ariana practically purred as she touched Carson's bicep. I rolled my eyes at her antics. She was obviously a grade a slut. I was starting to get antsy and annoyed by all the walking we were doing. Feeling like a dog on a leash. We stopped before another door, this one was larger and had two doors. Dimitri whistled and the doors opened slowly showing us an auditorium with about fifty people already sitting in it. He walked in pulling us in behind him, leading us over to some seating.

"Sit down right here." As we did what he said he snapped his fingers again which it caused the leashes to be retracted and our wrist to be stuck to the seat we were currently residing. Trying to move my wrist became impossible. I glared up on Dimitri, which caused him to smirk in my direction. "Welcome to Reapers Academy.... Enjoy your stay." He winked and turned on heel to go to the front, to which he sat in the front row. Several moments we sat there in silence, and then more people on the glittering leashes were dragged in. They were sat down the way we were. Then it seemed the room was full. The doors behind us all slammed closed, causing us all to jump startled.

"Hello, Welcome to Reapers Academy. You are this years Beginners. Let me go over the rules of Reapers Academy before we start... We wouldn't want any accidents to happen and have you lost in the enchanted halls now would we?" The voice speaking laughed. I focused my attention to the front where a short and pudgy looking woman stood. "You must always try your best, don't disobey your teachers, make sure you don't lie... you can't run away. The bands around your wrists are trackers, so it won't do you any good. Always be in your dorm rooms by ten. Attend every class. If you are late once you will get a strike. Three strikes and eternal damnation for you. That wouldn't be fun now would it? NEVER call Lucifer El Diablo. He hates that. Respect your teachers and classmates. Always wear your uniform, dont adventure into the restricted areas. I think that might be all the rules. Although you will be getting a guidebook shortly with all the rules you need to know. Brush up on that when you get back to your dorm rooms. It IS mandatory. If you don't read it you will get a strike. Please don't get off to a bad start. My name is Ms. Tesla, I will be your Introduction to Defensive Training teacher. I will be teaching you all the types of dangers you might possibly face as a Grim Reaper. Now some of the other teachers will get up here and tell you about the other classes you will be taking. Come on up, Mr. Raynes."

A tall slender handsome looking male stepped forward. He wore all black and looked slightly dangerous. He smirked out to the crowd of students. We all trembled in slight fear. "Hello, my name is obviously Mr. Raynes." His voice was edgy and had a slight detectability of disdain. He continued, "I will be your Introduction to the Grim Reapers Tools and How You Use Them teacher. We will be learning about all the tools you could receive, depending on if the tool is for the field you are chosen to be in. We will go over safety with the tools and proper usage." He ended his speech and sat down as the next teacher stood up.

He was a short male with wrinkles and gray hair. He was quite an amusing person. "Hello, my name is Mr. Grayson. I am your Introduction to Reapers Teacher. I will be teaching you all about the different reapers. What the characteristics of each Reaper is... What they do, and why they are needed. Tomorrow you will all be led to the testing facility where you will take your initial Reaper Placement Test. It will give us an idea of where you stand and what we should be looking for. You will then have the whole year watched to see if the test was right .. which rarely is it ever wrong... to see which Reaper job most facilitates who you are. Then next year you will be put in classes to enhance the certain job skill you hold. We are going to have such a fun year!!" He exclaims as he goes to sit next to Mr. Raynes.

A dark mystical voice lit up the room, my eyes darted back and forth to seek out the voice. My efforts were fruitless. "Hello my dears. I am to be called Mr. Darkwing. I will be teaching you all about souls. The different species of souls... because we all know humans aren't the only species right? Well maybe only the humans here don't know that." A small glowing fairy like creature started to peek it's head out from under the podium. "That's right I am a fae. Proof that not all that die are humanoids. So take this as a lesson. I can't wait to have you in my class." Mr. Darkwing giggled as he twirled around before moving towards the other teachers.

Next a short witch looking woman stands up. She grins out over the crowd and starts to speak in a hoarse voice. "Hello my dears I am Mrs. Littlebottom. Don't laugh!! You will get into lots of trouble. Anyways... I am your Rules To Reap By teacher. I will explain all of the rules you will have to live by after you are sent back up to the living world. This will keep you safe and out of trouble if you listen. Remember you only have three strikes until you are damned to an eternal punishment here in Hell... and let me tell you it's not pretty. I've seen some of the punishments. I am scared to even do anything against the Council. Keep that in note when you think of disobeying the laws. Do what you are supposed to, and in time your sentence might be lifted." She sat down.

The next person to stand up was slightly... scary. He was dominating and caused a shiver to travel through my body. His voice was low and calm as he spoke. "Hello, my name is a name of many. Some of you may know me as Satan, others Lucifer. Ilbis, Mara, Dark Lord, Diabolus, Diabolos, Lord of the Underworld, Lord of Hell, Mephistopheles, The Adversary, Accuser, Prosecutor, Serpent, Shaitan, Kölski, Voland, and some even call me the Devil. I have many names. The one name you are NOT allowed to call me is El Diablo. I prefer if you call me Lucifer. I am the headmaster of this school, I am the king of the underworld. This is where you reside. Until you pass your schooling you are to respect me, and my kingdom. You are not to trespass into the areas that your teachers will teach you not to go. We don't want you getting in trouble now do we?" He gave out a menacing smirk as he eyed each and every student that sat in the room then his eyes stopped on me. A shiver ran through me again. His eyes lit in an unknown emotion that caused me to startle slightly. "Hmm that is all for now my delightful pupils. Wait until your resident dorm adviser comes to collect you and show you back to your rooms. You... come here girl." He said pointing at me. Snapping the leash that held me to the chair before me disappeared.

I looked around to make sure he wasn't pointing at anyone else. Frightened I traveled forward towards the Lord of the Underworld. The guy we were taught to fear in life. Stopping before him I bowed my head in respect towards the headmaster. "Now now none of that. We are past that are we not Zeandra?" He asked his tone different from when he was addressing the room. It was comforting and familiar. I looked into his eyes confused.

"Um Zeandra, sir? My name is Zathandra." His eyes seemed to search mine looking for something. I shifted foot to foot nervously.

"Oh... excuse me. I thought you were someone else." Lucifers brows furrowed. He wasn't at all what I thought the Devil would look like. He also seemed so familiar. I felt sad that he was confused and almost upset that I wan't this Zeandra female he had spoke of.

"I am sorry, sir." I whispered to him, he just shook his head and turned away. His hand motioning for my resident dorm adviser to come over and bring me back to my room. When Dimitri came over, I automatically snapped my hand out so that he could get easy access to the leash upon my wrist. He looked over at me graciously, almost in respect. As he led us out of the room, I cast a glance over my shoulder to see Lucifer standing there watching my back. Turning back around I followed behind the group, my thoughts on the name he had called me. Who was Zeandra?

Dimitri dropped off Carson first, then Adrianna, then Melissa "Rainbow". Lastly he traveled down the hall towards my room to drop me off. "Dimitri? Who is Zeandra?" I inquired.

"Hmm? Zeandra? Oh... she was someone that was important a long time ago. Really changed the way things ran down here. Then one day she disappeared, and nothing's been the same since then." He gave a small frown, his mind wandering to the girl wondering if she was really was Zeandra as Lucifer had thought, or if she was just a look alike. "She looked a lot like you. I really don't know why I am telling you that but it felt right." He said softly, he wasn't at all the cruel guy that had met up with me earlier to drag me towards the room. Stopping before my door he handed me a bag. "This is your guidebook, and map to the school. Brush up on it, you will need to know it before tomorrow. As soon as you have read the whole book your bracelet will glow and you will then be allowed in the halls. Have a nice night Zathandra." He threw over his shoulder as he walked away leaving me clueless to everything that had happened.

Dear Diary,
Today was a weird day. I met Lucifer, he wasn't at all what I expected. He seemed so familiar. It was odd when his eyes glanced at me and shock seemed evident on his face. He talked to me and called me Zeandra. Who is Zeandra? Why did he think I was her? I think my roommate is back. I am going to talk to her before I jump into reading my guidebook.
